5 Trending men’s hairstyles in 2022

There are so many ways to transform your look that it can be hard to know where to start. Here are the top 5 trending hairstyles at the moment (and how to style them) to give you inspiration.

1. The Comb over

This is a timeless look that can be achieved with almost any length of hair on top. The key is to have enough length to be able to style it, so if your hair is too short, you might want to grow it out a little before trying this one. This year the comb over has become increasingly popular, making a strong comeback. The comb over features longer hair on top and short sides. Traditionally, men have used this style to sweep over balding patches, but this is certainly not the only reason our clients get this style. The comb over has had a modern revival, due to popular celebrities and high-fashion runway models sporting it.  The combover comes in many forms so be sure to consult with your barber on the best style comb over that will suit you.

How to style it

To style a combover, start by applying some product to your damp hair after washing and comb into place.  We recommend styling using a Pomade, Gum, Moulding Creme, or Clay for this, as it will give you the best hold. Then, comb your hair into place and use a hairdryer to set it.

2.The Quiff

The quiff is a great way to add height and volume to your hair, and it’s a modern style that suits almost everyone. To achieve the perfect quiff, you’ll need at least 3-4 inches of hair on top. The style has been sported by celebs such as David Beckham and Conor McGregor. The stylish yet timeless style does not discriminate and is suitable for almost all ages and face types- depending on how the cut is styled. This style features long hair on top (longer than you would expect with a traditional comb over) and slightly trimmed hair at the sides and back.

How to style it

Style for a strong hold by adding a small amount of product (to slightly damp hair) such as Styling Paste or Gum, then comb it into place. Use a hairdryer to Blow-dry your hair upwards, then use your fingers or a comb to shape it into place. For a more lightweight, classic, and moveable look dry your hair and add Volumising hair dust powder or Sea Salt spray.

3. The Pompadour

The pompadour is a classic style that has been around for decades and is still as popular as ever. To style a pompadour, you’ll need at least 4 inches of hair on top. Many wonder as to what the difference is between the Quiff and the Pompadour. Well, firstly the quiff has a heavy focus on the forelock (the hair above the forehead) and in some cases can remain relatively flat, in comparison to a puffy pompadour. The pompadour and quiff are very similar in the sense that they both sweep the hair in an upward motion away from the face, however, the pompadour is often styled for a glossier finish and is typically cut more precisely.

When styling apply a small amount of product to your damp hair, then comb it into place. Again, use a hairdryer to Blow-dry your hair upwards, then use your fingers or a comb to style into place. To achieve that classic Pomp shine add some Fibre gum or Moulding Creme. For a more controlled and stiff style try adding Clay or Paste.

4. Side Part

The side part is a simple but stylish way to style your hair, and it’s perfect for those who don’t want to do anything too drastic. This style has jumped into the spotlight in 2022 being sported by stars such as Mad Men’s Don Draper. The side part is the perfect style for those gents looking for a slick, suave, and sophisticated look.

Consider asking your barber to add a taper to combine the modern with the classic!

5. Crew Cut

The crew cut is one of the most prominent classic men’s hair cuts. With so many variations of this style, it is likely that some men have even unknowingly rocked this look in the past.
